It was a privilege to be involved in teaching lessons on forgiveness to various Year 9 classes at Gosford Hill School in Kidlington last half term. The lesson is well written and revolves around the parable of the unforgiving servant and a real life news clip of a Christian mother & sister in Liverpool who were able to forgive the killers of their son/brother. It’s great to come together from different churches to work as a team in the classroom. The young people engaged well with the lesson. It was encouraging that by the lesson’s end most could clearly outline why Christians are called to forgive those that sin against them – because Christians are those who have received outrageous forgiveness from God, paid for by Jesus on the cross. Prior to this academic year most of my experience of Christian school’s work has been with juniors. Working with secondary age has not been as daunting as I thought it might be, due to the teamwork and support of OSC. I’m praying that we get to teach Year 7, 8 & 9 next academic year.
